A New York Times comment has highlighted this Gallup poll showing the importance of religion in people's lives in different countries in the world.
America, as the NYT says, is an outlier as a rich religious country (there aren't many); the other obvious finding is that the countries that care most about religion are eight out of ten majority-Muslim.
